Playing around

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been playing around with a little bit of crochet this past week. Mostly little things. I am trying to decide on what my goal is for this month. On June 7th I will participate in a Crafts Show in a nearby town. Two of my crafty friends and I will share a big booth and we will certainly have many different items for sale, from weaving, knitting and crochet.

So now preparations have to be made, from having a pop-up tent, to chairs, table coverings, displays, baskets and much more. Everything has to be neatly washed and priced.

At this point I would really like to ask all of you for your opinions. From your own experiences, what kind of things sell the best at crafts shows? I have some basic standby's like Dishcloth, Potholders, and such, but otherwise I am just not sure what kind of things I should still be making up this month. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Weaving - An Update

Hallo Friends, hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was pretty busy, but very nice. The only thing that put me a bit of kilter was the time change. I really dislike that time change, as I feel like I am off for a week or more. Wish they would do away with it.

On to other things. Well I finally finished my four place mats on the Weaver. They are made out of cotton thread, woven, washed and sewn. The colors I picked to correspond with my coca-cola collection in red, white and black. I think they came out pretty good for my first attempt.

Forgive the pictures. They are not as good as I would like. Living in an apartment has its limitations and I also don't have a big dinning room table, so a little one I have had to do.

I think they might also look better with white dishes.

What do you think?

Also made a little dishcloth with the same colors,

but instead of weaving with the black thread

I wove with the red.

Isn't it interesting how different something can look?

A bit of greenery can add a little 

touch as well.

And finally after a week of Ice and Snow,

we can see some Spring arriving around here as well.

The first flowers are popping their 

little heads out of the ground.

Olympics

Hallo Friends! The weekend is here. Do I hear many "Yay, finally"?

Well the time has come again for the Olympic Winter Games. Are you watching? Personally I love the winter Olympics better than the summer one. So far I have been glued to the TV since Thursday night, when they had the first competitions started. Last night I than watched the Opening Ceremonies. Quite a beautiful show and very Russian, I thought.

Now my dilemma. As some of you may know, I am a German girl living in the USA. So who do I root for?

 Hmmm, tuff decision. Or maybe just simple......Let's just root for both!

Both countries have very large teams

and it should make for interesting competition.

Either way, I am just very much looking forward to seeing it.

My favorite is Ice Skating.

But I am not just sitting idle watching the Tube, but I actually got something crocheted for my house. I needed some new one's. The old one's were showing a lot of wear and tear and started to look plain yucky. Well you probably guessed it already, it was some more pot holders. I always seem to make them for other people and it was about time I made some to pretty up my own house.

Link-Yourself Monday & the letter "J"

Good Morning Friends!

First of I would like to thank you all for your concern regarding my back. I appreciate your kind thoughts. Sadly it hasn't gotten any better and it is still hard for me to sit for long periods of time. Apparently I injured my Lumbar Muscle and it will take a little bit to get better. I have to admit I am not a patient person when it comes to things like that, but I guess I better learn to be. Until than, I hope you understand, my posts will be shorter. I am still trying to crochet, but that is going very slow.

The letter "J" was a bit of a challenge. What would you think of crocheting with this letter? Well my thought was "Janitorial" and with that I could think of very few crocheted items. Here is what I came up with:

Stash-Buster #3

"Happy Saturday" to all my Bloggie Friends! We currently have wonderful spring weather outside. Everything is starting to bloom. I just love this time of the year, when it stops being so cold and before it gets to hot. For me it could be like that year round.

Sadly I seem to have injured my Lumbar muscle in my back, which means quite a bit of pain, unable to sit, lay or walk. Not to much fun. It's making it a bit hard for me to sit and crochet, but I have been trying.

So with that said, here is one more stash-buster project, another set of potholders/hot pads. This time in yellow.

And than I baked some Blueberry Muffins.

Wish you can smell them.

Stash-Buster #2

 

Well, I am back!!!! For the last few days I caught up on much needed sleep and I got to say, I feel so so much better now. It's amazing how some sleep can make us feel so much better and give us a better and happier outlook on things. 

So I got back to crocheting and working on my stash for the stash-buster project. I really have a lot of yarn to work with.

My project this time was a dishtowel, two dishcloth/potholders and one coaster. Once again "I LOVE THIS COTTON" was used. When I took the pictures, I realized that I didn't have a cabinet handle to hang it on, neither a stove handle. So I took the pictures on the kitchen table, which almost made the towel blend in. But sorry that is the best I could do, as I am really limited on bright spots in my apartment. Hope you can see them well enough.

Stash-Buster #1
