Market Bag

Ladies, can you believe it? I actually made something else than a Mandela.

I found this pretty red and white striped cotton yarn
and knew right away what I wanted to make with it.
The design is my own
and I think it came out pretty good.

Here is my bag hanging next to my favorite bird.....
.....you know the one I mean, haha

Here you can see the whole bag in one piece
all nice and stretched out.

A little close up.

What do you think?
Did it come out ok?

Well till next time from my neck of the woods......

Link-Yourself Monday #27 & a little Give-away

Happy Monday my Bloggie Friends!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Happy you are stopping by. We are once again having Link-Yourself Monday and we are looking forward to what you have to share with us today.

Here are our top three links for the past week. Thanks for sharing your lovely creations with us.

And now to our little Give-away:

Over the last few days I did a yarn inventory,
which I will talk about in a follow up post.
What I found is that I had yarn, that I personally can't use,
since I am allergic to that type yarn.
So with that said,
I decided I would like to share it with one of you.
The only rule here is,
that you please leave a comment at the end
and let me know that you would like to participate.
The Give-away will end Sunday, the 18th, 2014.
So hope you come and join for chance.

The yarn is Patons SWS.
It is not brown, like it looks on the picture, but green (natural moss)
It's a soy wool blend.
You will get 5 (80g) skeins of it.

And now it's time for the Link-up.....
Go for it....

Erika's Crafts Corner Monday Link-Yourself Guidelines:

1. Add links for up to three of your blogposts using the Link-Yourself button below.

2. Please leave a comment on the blogs of the other participants. We all Love comments and know that         others appreciate what we make. Also please tell others you are linking up.

3. Please share this post through Google+, Pinterest or Facebook. That creates more exposure for everybody joining our link-up.

Playing around

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been playing around with a little bit of crochet this past week. Mostly little things. I am trying to decide on what my goal is for this month. On June 7th I will participate in a Crafts Show in a nearby town. Two of my crafty friends and I will share a big booth and we will certainly have many different items for sale, from weaving, knitting and crochet.

So now preparations have to be made, from having a pop-up tent, to chairs, table coverings, displays, baskets and much more. Everything has to be neatly washed and priced.

At this point I would really like to ask all of you for your opinions. From your own experiences, what kind of things sell the best at crafts shows? I have some basic standby's like Dishcloth, Potholders, and such, but otherwise I am just not sure what kind of things I should still be making up this month. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here are a few of the things I have been playing around with:

 Some Dishcloth

And some key holders,
but I think they are a bit to large.

And than I made some more coasters

I think they are nice, bright and pretty.
For this I found the pattern here

At the moment I am roaming around on Pinterest to find some more things I might like to make. Hope I can find some quick things.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.......Till next time

Mandela #9

Thanks for stopping by today. As you can see I am still on my Mandela kick. I just can't stop. And the more I want to stop, the more new patterns I see appearing and with that it is over for me. I am just plain hooked. Please come and help me get over this madness.

Here now is one I have designed myself. I hope you like it.

But first I thought I would share a little description of what the different colors stand for in a Mandela. Very interesting, don't you think?

The one thing that is crazy about a Mandela is allllll those strings.
You do have to do a lot of sewing in.

If you should be interested in the pattern please let me know and I will post it.
I should have written it down as I went along,
but sadly I didn't.
So now I am going back and doing just that, so I have it
as a future reference.

Wishing you all a lovely day!
Till next time.....

Happy Monday everybody! Hope your weekend was filled with the things you enjoy. Personally I had another super busy one. Hoping that after Easter it slows down a bit, so I can catch up with myself.

Mandela Crazy

Good Morning my lovely Friends!

You will all say "She has gone crazy". So many Mandela's. And I would have to say "Yep, very true". I just can't seem to get enough of them. It's like an addiction, you just can't stop. So many different patterns, so many different color combinations, so much fun. Once I got started with them, I don't seem to be able to put them down.

Remember the other day I showed you my Mandela #4. Well at the time I didn't just make one. Nope, I made three, in three color combinations of the same three basic colors, white, pink and red. When I showed it off, I had only sewn in the string of one and so only showed you that one. So now, without further ado, I shall show you the other two and than all three together.

After all that, do you think there is hope for me
to quit this addiction?
Do I need to go to the Mandela addiction clinic
for rehab?
Help!!!

On that note I will leave you all today.
Make your day Special!

52 Week Crochet Challenge Week 6

Week 6: Spring Cleaning. This week it is time to organize your yarn. How do you do it? By color, type, weight?

The timing of this challenge is very good for me, as I am currently turning a second bedroom in my apartment into a crafts room. At this point it has been going along rather slowly because I don't have all the storage shelving I would like to have. I have plans on fixing that in the next few weeks by going to yard sales and open/outdoor flea markets. We have lots of them in our area.

Here are a few of the storage solutions I am using right now.

Currently I have 6 of these rolling drawer storage's.
They are filled with the yarn I am currently using,
and yes they are organized.
1 is filled with nothing but cotton yarn
1 is filled with projects I have finished (going to crafts show)
1 filled with smaller projects I am currently working on
3 are filled with all the yarn I am currently using (not color coordinated)

The rest of my yarn I am keeping in storage bins,
like the one below.
They are wonderful to use, as you can see what
you have in them without having to open them every time.

I also like to use different kind of baskets, some to
keep the yarn with which I am currently working,
or with yarn and my current project.
This way I can take it to any room or location easily.

How do you keep and organize your Yarn?

As soon as I have finished organizing and setting up my crafts room I will give you all a tour. That will be an exciting day, don't you think?

Till next time from my neck of the woods........

A Walk in the Country & Mandela #2

This morning the sun is shining and it made me want to get out of the house for a few minutes. It's still a bit cool, but comfortable. So I decided to take a walk down the road from where I live. It's very country.

This Mom Cow gave me a look like "What are you bothering us for"?

Isn't this a cute calf?
It looked very sleepy

Look, the trees are starting to bloom.
So HAPPY to see that.

And now without further ado:
My reveal of
MANDELA #2

Before I forget it, I found the pattern here

Ok, it is time to return to real life
and get some housework done (yuck, lol)

Till next time my Friends......
