Playing around

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been playing around with a little bit of crochet this past week. Mostly little things. I am trying to decide on what my goal is for this month. On June 7th I will participate in a Crafts Show in a nearby town. Two of my crafty friends and I will share a big booth and we will certainly have many different items for sale, from weaving, knitting and crochet.

So now preparations have to be made, from having a pop-up tent, to chairs, table coverings, displays, baskets and much more. Everything has to be neatly washed and priced.

At this point I would really like to ask all of you for your opinions. From your own experiences, what kind of things sell the best at crafts shows? I have some basic standby's like Dishcloth, Potholders, and such, but otherwise I am just not sure what kind of things I should still be making up this month. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here are a few of the things I have been playing around with:

 Some Dishcloth

And some key holders,
but I think they are a bit to large.

And than I made some more coasters

I think they are nice, bright and pretty.
For this I found the pattern here

At the moment I am roaming around on Pinterest to find some more things I might like to make. Hope I can find some quick things.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.......Till next time

Mandela #6

Good Morning my lovely fellow bloggers. Hoping your weekend will be filled with lots of fun things!

Yes, I made another Mandela. Just can't quite stop yet. So addicting.

I found the pattern here: Lizzie Bella Blog

It's not as big as some of the other Mandela's

She made a few in different color combinations.
Go and check them out.

A Walk in the Country & Mandela #2

This morning the sun is shining and it made me want to get out of the house for a few minutes. It's still a bit cool, but comfortable. So I decided to take a walk down the road from where I live. It's very country.

This Mom Cow gave me a look like "What are you bothering us for"?

Isn't this a cute calf?
It looked very sleepy

Look, the trees are starting to bloom.
So HAPPY to see that.

And now without further ado:
My reveal of
MANDELA #2

Before I forget it, I found the pattern here

Ok, it is time to return to real life
and get some housework done (yuck, lol)

Till next time my Friends......

Happy Spring

Yayyyyy, Spring is finally officially here. Are we all excited? I know I am, very much so. The sun is shining beautifully today and it is a bit warmer. The Birds are chirping and making Mr. Picasso crazy. The grass is showing signs of turning green and more and more flowers are popping out of the ground. What an exciting time, don't you think?

For this occasion I even crocheted a little something.
You want to see it?
I call it:

Tulip Garden

What you all think?
Is it Springy enough?
I know it is cheering up my house.

Till next time my friends!
Hope to see you all soon again!

Cheerful Friday

"Happy Friday" everybody! How was your week?

Mine was quite busy as always, but there were many happy moments thrown in. Finally the weather has been on the brighter and warmer side. We had temps in the upper 50's and 60's. Yay, Happy Dance. So I was quite shocked that they are forecasting snow for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. I am so done with all that. But the weather is what it is and before long we will be complaining about the Heat.

But this week I needed something to get me in the mood for Spring ad I wanted bright and sunny colors around me. Since my main living area is mostly decorated around my coca-cola collection, red, white and black, I felt the need to add some color in one of the other rooms. So since I am working on redoing my crafts room, I decided that will be the room it will all happen in. I want to see nothing but bright, fun colors. Living in a Rental one is always a bit handicapped  regarding paint choices etc., but I am finally allowed to changed the wall color and that will be happening very shortly. Looking forward to that, as you can imagine.

But coming back to what I have made this week to make it more cheery. Without further ado:

Tah-Dah

Something cheerful for the table

This one is made from variegated yarn.
When I picked up the skein I thought
the colors looked brighter,
but it still turned out nice.

How is that for Bright?

Or this one?

A little close up

And one more

All three together

And than I thought I would see
how it would look with some decoration
on it.

Not bad, if I do say so myself

Well they have cheered me up very much and I now know I really want and need more color around me. So I foresee more color in my near future.

For now I would like to wish all of you a blessed and quiet weekend from my neck of the woods!

Stash-Buster #2

Well, I am back!!!! For the last few days I caught up on much needed sleep and I got to say, I feel so so much better now. It's amazing how some sleep can make us feel so much better and give us a better and happier outlook on things.

So I got back to crocheting and working on my stash for the stash-buster project. I really have a lot of yarn to work with.

My project this time was a dishtowel, two dishcloth/potholders and one coaster. Once again "I LOVE THIS COTTON" was used. When I took the pictures, I realized that I didn't have a cabinet handle to hang it on, neither a stove handle. So I took the pictures on the kitchen table, which almost made the towel blend in. But sorry that is the best I could do, as I am really limited on bright spots in my apartment. Hope you can see them well enough.

The whole Towel

Than I added these little buttons

One little coaster

The two dishcloth/potholders

A little close-up

The whole set

One last close-up

While I was taking the pictures, these two rascals kept watching me.
I think they were wondering what the heck I was doing.

"Mom" how about a close-up?

Now I am fixing to go for a walk, as the weather is so nice and I need to stretch the back that is starting to hurt from sitting to much and than I will move on with my next project. So see you all on the flip site. Bye, bye for now!

Tuesday Question & a Square?

Good afternoon Friends! Hope everything finds you well in your neighborhood.

As to our Tuesday Question:

As many of you know I have animals in my house. Two little dogs and two cats. All of them have quite a bit of hair and do tend to loose it, sometimes a lot. If you have animals yourself, how do you keep this hair from getting into your yarn while you are working on your project? I always seem to crochet or knit some of it into each project I make and it is very annoying to me. Anybody have a good tip here?

As for the Square, well there is no new Square today. Instead I made a little dishcloth I found on Pinterest in honor of Valentines day. It's in the shape of a Heart. I thought it was kind of cute and wanted to add it to the many I have already. I made it in my favorite colors so it will match other things in my home.

You can find the pattern here
I found the pattern at time a bit confusing, but
I think it turned out ok.

A little more detail

Thought it looked cute with my Red Mug

How about now with the little coasters
I made a while back?

I will leave you on this note and off to work I go. Have a lovely Tuesday! Hope you can all help me with my little hair dilemma.

Erika
