Craft Project

Once a month the ladies of my church get together to do something crafty. Last week was no exception. This time we made something for the outdoors, something colorful and fun. I thought I would share it with you.

What can you make with a straw hat and a few little 

clay flowerpots?

The next one belong to one of the other ladies.

You can tell how different our tastes are.

And now the finished project.

Sorry the picture is not the best, as the light was pretty lousy,

but you get the idea.

They all came out so cute. 

Every one of them different.

They will make great additions to our front porches,

don't you think.

Well fun was had by all.

Next month we are going to make some 

Hypertufa.

Will share that with you when the time comes.

52 Week Crochet Challenge - Week 5

Hello my lovely Friends. It is Wednesday once again and another week, another challenge is here.

This week the challenge was to learn a new stitch. Well something I have never done was the Tunisian Basic Stitch. I had thought about learning many different times, but it never came about. This time I only made a sample, because I just don't need to start another project, as I have to many going already and I am trying very hard to limit myself and to finish what I have started already.

The Tunisian Stitch is not hard to do, but I must admit, it felt really odd at first to have such a long needle in my hand, one that wasn't a knitting needle. The first few rows I was rather clumsy at going about it, but than it got easier as the rows came along. It is certainly something I will do again and make a complete project with.

Here is the completed sample.

I did steam it, so it would lay down uncurled.

The backside looks as if it is knitted.

A Walk in the Country & Mandela #2

This morning the sun is shining and it made me want to get out of the house for a few minutes. It's still a bit cool, but comfortable. So I decided to take a walk down the road from where I live. It's very country.

This Mom Cow gave me a look like "What are you bothering us for"?

Spring Love continues

Hallo Friends! The weekend is upon us. Isn't that just wonderful? Rest and Relaxation. Well, actually the weekend means it's time to get cleaning and taking care of the house. With four little critters that love to leave their hair everywhere, it's a constant battle at the moment to keep it looking nice. But they are so worth it. Love these buggers.

Over the last couple of days my Spring Theme continued in the crochet department. I had to add more fun, colorful stuff to the collection.

First I started with some coasters

I thought they looked bright and cheerful

Than I added the Tulip Garden to the mix

And also a little cover for my flower vase

Remember the flower from my 52 Week Crochet Challenge?

I added it here.

To give it the final touch, I added this little Bug.

Isn't it cute?

They smell so lovely and every time I pass by

they cheer me up so much.

Happy Spring

Yayyyyy, Spring is finally officially here. Are we all excited? I know I am, very much so. The sun is shining beautifully today and it is a bit warmer. The Birds are chirping and making Mr. Picasso crazy. The grass is showing signs of turning green and more and more flowers are popping out of the ground. What an exciting time, don't you think?

For this occasion I even crocheted a little something.
