What I've been up to

Hallo my Friends! Yes, I am still here, if only temporarily in the background. As it so often goes in life, things change. With the kind of job I do to earn a living, things can change slow or real fast. As I have told you all before my last patient has sadly passed away and with that I needed to go on and find a new one. But before that happened, my back decided to put a wrench in the middle. My back has been a slow uphill battle. It would feel better for a few days and than it would be so bad again, like in the beginning. It still isn't what it should be, but it is still improving. Sitting for longer periods of time are still hard and as we all know, in order to crochet or any other craft for that matter, is done sitting. So it is going a bit slower than usual, but I am working on a few things, including stash busters.

As for a new job, a new one came to me two weeks after loosing my last one. The hours are different, as I am working lots more daytime hours. That also changed my crafting and blogging schedule. We all know how it goes. When we come home after a long day, the household comes first, than in my case, my animals follow. But I will readjust and get a better organized schedule again, with more craft time.

So here now is one of the things I have made in the last few weeks:

What can you do with this?

And this?

And this?

Well?
Ok........
Here are the results
The Beginning........

And the End Result is.......

What do you all thing?
Did they come out ok?

Thanks for visiting me today and I will do my best to be here more often again and to also to continue the link-up party and more.

Link-Yourself Monday & the letter "J"

Good Morning Friends!

First of I would like to thank you all for your concern regarding my back. I appreciate your kind thoughts. Sadly it hasn't gotten any better and it is still hard for me to sit for long periods of time. Apparently I injured my Lumbar Muscle and it will take a little bit to get better. I have to admit I am not a patient person when it comes to things like that, but I guess I better learn to be. Until than, I hope you understand, my posts will be shorter. I am still trying to crochet, but that is going very slow.

The letter "J" was a bit of a challenge. What would you think of crocheting with this letter? Well my thought was "Janitorial" and with that I could think of very few crocheted items. Here is what I came up with:

Can you think of anything I have missed?
Would love to hear from you.

Stash-Buster #3

"Happy Saturday" to all my Bloggie Friends! We currently have wonderful spring weather outside. Everything is starting to bloom. I just love this time of the year, when it stops being so cold and before it gets to hot. For me it could be like that year round.

Sadly I seem to have injured my Lumbar muscle in my back, which means quite a bit of pain, unable to sit, lay or walk. Not to much fun. It's making it a bit hard for me to sit and crochet, but I have been trying.

So with that said, here is one more stash-buster project, another set of potholders/hot pads. This time in yellow.

And than I baked some Blueberry Muffins.
Wish you can smell them.
Absolutely yummy!

Don't all three look pretty together?

A little close-up

These daffodil's are gorgeous, are they not?

Ok, time for me to get up and do some more walking.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend
and see you again on Monday.

Stash-Buster #2

Well, I am back!!!! For the last few days I caught up on much needed sleep and I got to say, I feel so so much better now. It's amazing how some sleep can make us feel so much better and give us a better and happier outlook on things.

So I got back to crocheting and working on my stash for the stash-buster project. I really have a lot of yarn to work with.

My project this time was a dishtowel, two dishcloth/potholders and one coaster. Once again "I LOVE THIS COTTON" was used. When I took the pictures, I realized that I didn't have a cabinet handle to hang it on, neither a stove handle. So I took the pictures on the kitchen table, which almost made the towel blend in. But sorry that is the best I could do, as I am really limited on bright spots in my apartment. Hope you can see them well enough.

The whole Towel

Than I added these little buttons

One little coaster

The two dishcloth/potholders

A little close-up

The whole set

One last close-up

While I was taking the pictures, these two rascals kept watching me.
I think they were wondering what the heck I was doing.

"Mom" how about a close-up?

Now I am fixing to go for a walk, as the weather is so nice and I need to stretch the back that is starting to hurt from sitting to much and than I will move on with my next project. So see you all on the flip site. Bye, bye for now!

Link-Yourself Monday

Good Monday Morning my Friends!

As you might have noticed, I haven't been around much this last week. This last week has been a rather difficult week for me. My cancer patient went down the final road and very sadly passed away on Friday. It was a very, very sad day for me, as I really cared for her. She had become my friend over the time I took care of her. As a Caregiver we are told not to get to attached to our patients. The truth of that is, that that is almost impossible if you see this patient every day for a long period of time and not care for this person, especially if you like them. Well to finish this, R.I.P my friend, I will think of you often.

So now I will take a breezer today and tomorrow I will get back to stash busting and sharing. I will have a little more time for a while, until I get a new patient.

Until than, how about you link yourself here and share what you have been working on as of late. Next week I will continue my craft journey from A-Z. Hope you come back to join me for that.

Until than..... Have a wonderful day!

Link-Yourself Monday & the letter "I"

Good Morning my crafty Friends! Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Once again it is Monday and with it time to link yourself. I think it is very helpful to do so, because other friends can find you, especially if you are new to the blogging world. So come join us this week and in the future.

As to the letter "I", it has become a challenge to me to find a craft to go with each of the letters in our alphabet. But what is better than a challenge, right? So this week the word "Industrial" came to me. I was very surprised that I could actually find crafts and that category, but I have. So here it goes......

Above these interesting bar stools
made from old springs.
Isn't that a great idea?

How about this lovely necklace made with chain
and metal accents, like gear and keys

One more, a little different

I really liked this one, made for the birds.
I think they are simple enough to make
and I will attempt to do them soon.

Hope this will inspire you also to try to make something new and different. Enjoy!

This time it the color is Orange

I even have some yarn left over and will most likely
make another coaster or two

"Happy Sunday" everybody!

A Welcome Trip out & Stash-Busting

Yes, this girl had a very welcome and nice time out yesterday. It was so needed. Sometimes we just got to re tank, don't you think?

My friend Karna invited me out to lunch to a little town called Hardy, in northern Arkansas. This little jem of a town is filled with many crafts people and also other little shops.

This is my friend Karna

First we went to this little restaurant called "Words / Afterwords"

I would have probably not found this nice little Restaurant on my own.
It was kind of on a back road and I never saw it on previous visits.

I was told at time they have Live music here

Nice Artists were featured here.
These paintings are for sale

Look at this beautiful coffee/tea bar

There was also an added porch with this wonderful stone fire place.
Wouldn't you love to eat there on a cold day?

Some kids from the local school painted these table.
I see some future artist.

As we were sitting there, to our surprise we ran into some more of our crafty friends,
Penny and Melissa. You can find Penny's blog here

All in all it was a very enjoyable lunch. Really hope we can do it again sometime
soon. I felt much more relaxed afterwards.

Before we went back home, Karna and I visited a few more of the little stores around
town. The last one was "Hardy Pottery", which is one of my favorites.

After lunch it was back to work.

Now on to my Stash-Busting. Yes, I have decided, a little late I admit, to participate in the Stash-Busting Challenge:

As you will see momentarily, it is a very much needed event in my crafts room. Sometimes you don't even realize how much yarn one girl can stash. To top that of, I have a fabric stash and also a painting stash that need to be worked on.

This is just some of my yarn stash. Holly Molly! There are a lot of future projects in there, wouldn't you say.

This is the first drawer I will be working on: The Cotton Yarn. I have already started and will share my first finished project with you tomorrow.

Wow, that was a long post, huh? Would like to wish you all a nice and relaxing weekend now. Hope to catch you on the flip side.
