Good afternoon ladies. Hope your days is going well so far. Here we are having a beautiful late summer day, not to hot for a change. It's nice to be able to walk outside for a while and not break out in a sweat. And the last few evenings have been just right enough to go out, sit on the porch and enjoy the sounds of nature around. Been watching the hummingbirds come and go, and noticed that instead of 2 of them like I had for a while, there are suddenly a bunch of them, twittering around and arguing amongst themselves. The can be so feisty, don't let their size fool you. But I have enjoyed them all summer long and will miss them when they move on for the winter.

Yesterday, a friend of mine and I went to Hobby Lobby. A Treat, as you imagine. Personally I could just spend hours in that place, spend a fortune and never get enough. Does that happen to you? But ohhh shock, they already had isle and isles of Christmas stuff. How scary is that? Isn't it still August? And what happened to fall and Halloween? Are we skipping them this year? That would be a royal shame. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas, it is my most favorite holiday of the year, but now already? It is getting earlier and earlier each year. Lets at least wait till the end of September or something. Well, as they say, it is just one persons opinion.

On the crocheting front.....I now made it to round 52 and I got to say it is taking longer and longer to make even one round. Not sure how many I will make total. I guess I will decide as I go along and see how big it is getting. How many rounds does the biggest one have in this crochet-a-long challenge? Have to see if I can find the answer.

For today I see Bye Bye. Have a lovely afternoon and we will see you again soon!

Trivet / Hot Pad

Last night I took a little break from my Giant Granny. Every so often we need to do that if we are working on something bigger. Will continue working on it some more this evening while watching a movie or two, with my feet kicked up in the easy chair and doggies by my feet. Can it get better than that?

So last night than I crocheted this little Trivet I found in the last Crochet World Magazine. There are a few other things I am planning on making from this issue. So expect to see more coming up in the future. So what do you think? Personally love this color. It's pinkish/orange cotton yarn.

Giant Granny - Part #2

Last night was so nice and quiet around here I did manage to actually crochet on the Giant Granny to round 30. Feeling mighty accomplished after that. Yay.....it always does feel good when something is moving ahead.

Have you all noticed the nights are starting to feel cooler.....oh happy days, or should I say nights. Will personally be so glad when this heat goes away some. I don't think I would want it to be quite Fall already, but I would really like to enjoy some outdoor time before it gets plum cold again. How you feel about that?

Giant Granny Square

Yes my Friends, I am actually here a second time today. Hard to believe huh? Well I guess I am really getting back into the swing of things and getting back to enjoying creating something new. It's been missing a while, but I am glad that it is making a return.

Making a Giant Granny is nothing unusual around here at the moment as there was a crochet-along. Most of you have already finished theirs as I am jumping in at the back-end of it, but better late than never, right? So far this morning I have crocheted 10 rounds, not much but a beginning. Hopefully by this evening I will have doubled that. As it is a rainy day outside and I actually don't have that much to do today, that is a good possibility, if not more. Will keep you posted on my progress.

A little Something

Over the last couple of nights I got to work on this little scarf, nothing fancy mind you, just a plain knitted one. But I did love the yarn I worked with. It's Plymouth Encore Colors, colorspun #7. It's a self striping yarn and I do love the way the colors came out on this one. I know I will use this yarn again in the future. I noticed, I seem to like the yarns that come from Turkey, as they always seem very soft, cuddly and easy to work with. Think I need a direct line to where they make these yarns, lol.

Thought I also show of my two little critters. The Yorkie is Gidget and the Shit-Zhu is Seffi. They really are good company.

Now you all have a good day.....Until next time.

Nook Cover

Last night I managed to have a little hooky time. A few weeks ago I bought myself a NOOK color so it would be easier for me to read. Yes my eyeballs are getting terrible bad and the bigger the words on a page the better. The Nook had different reviews, some good and some not so good, but personally I love it. It gives me everything I was looking for and I am once again with my nose deep into the book world. But I decided I wanted a cover for my tablet and so last night I came up with this little cover. Mind you it is nothing fancy, but for now it serves its purpose. After finishing it I decided that I need to make another one in the future, one that has more protection in the front for the screen. So I will go back to the drawing board and figure out what I can do better the next time.

So what do you think of my little cover?

So now I hope you all have a great weekend. Enjoy!!

A litte Scarf

Hallo my lovely ladies, hope you are all having a wonderful day so far.

Over the last three days I worked on a little shawl, which I think turned out pretty nice, even if I do say so myself. As knitting is not my first love, it always seems to take me longer to complete a project. But lately I have been wanting to get those knitting needles between my fingers and to learn new fancier stitches and to find out more about lace knitting. Now mind you, the scarf that I just finished has no fancy stitches involved, only a yarn over at the edges, but it is a start, don't you think?

Well here is the finished product:

Crafting Mojo

Yes.....I am actually here. Hard to believe huh? The last time I was here was in May and I know that is just way to long not to post. But sadly I have to admit that I seemed I had lost my crafting mojo for some time. Part of it I think was because my life just got way to busy and at the end of the day I just couldn't sit down and crochet or knit because I was just to tired. Things are still kind of hectic but they also seem to be getting better. I feel the crafting itch coming back, slowly but surely. Have you ever been in this spot, not wanting to pursue your otherwise favorite thing in the world? Well hopefully the feeling will stay and I can find my way around slowly once again. I want you all to know so, that I have been reading your lovely posts and enjoyed them very much. So Friends, Thanks for hanging in there with me and I hope to see you all again often.

So here is my first project starting up again. I love this little hat and it didn't take very long from start to finish. I used Jaeger Ascot yarn, about 75g. Got to say I loved working with this yarn. It is soft and it stretches well.

Hope you like my little hat, as I will surely enjoy it this coming winter.

For now I bit you all farewell and hope you have a great day!
