Tuesday Question and I'm Back!

YES, my Dear Friends....I'm baacckk! Have you missed me? Just a little??

Well you are probably wondering where I have been hiding. Did you think I have been on vacation? Nope, sorry to say it wasn't a vacation. Sometimes Live just takes you on a little detour and unforeseen things come along. I had a bit of Chaos in my personal live, plus my online store had been compromised and I am in the process of rebuilding a super secured store, so this will not happen to me again. A project like that takes an amazing amount of time and patience.I'm not quite finished yet, but it is back online and functional. So now I hope some things will get back to normal and I can get back to concentrating on some new crochet and other craft projects. I really am looking forward to it.

Over the next few days I will show you a few of the things I have been doing and share some other News with you. Hope you can be patient till than.

Would like you all to know also, that in my time away I have been following your blogs and have enjoyed your many wonderful and beautiful craft and vacation stories. Reading what you all had to say has kept me sane. So Thank You All for sharing your work with all of us.

Has it been this hot in your neck of the woods as it has been here in Mississippi? Over the last two weeks we have had nothing but temps in the 100's. WOW! All we had to do is step in front of the door and all you wanted to do, is turn back around and go back in. I used to enjoy summers more and spend much time in the garden, but I have to admit, this has not been one of those summers. Actually looking forward to September and the cooler temps. Does it affect you that way?

Here now is one of the little projects I worked on, nothing fancy or outstanding, but I had to keep my hands busy every once in a while. It's a little scarf and it is being modeled by the granddaughter of my girlfriend.

There are a few other projects I have been working on, but I will share those with you over the next few days.

Am I not CUTE???
My name is Gidget and my mommy loves me very much!

Ok, here now to the Tuesday Question:

How and When did you discover your creative Side? Did another person inspire you or did you pick up your craft in another way? Looking forward to your answers.

That's it from me for today, but many cool things to come in the future, including another give-away. So hope to see you all back here soon. Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

  1. I discovered my creative side when I was very young. My Dad was very creative and a fantastic artist. He got me into painting and I lost him two years ago and miss him very much. My mum got me into knitting and crochet but not till recently. I look forward to reading your catchup. Clare

  2. I have always loved crafts but as I think I mentioned before never could finish anything.. Since I became disabled last year I knew I had to occupy myself with something. I seen the purple long knifty knitter and bought it but it was a foreign language to me at the time..In January this year I seen some patterns for childrens hats made on the round kniffty knitter looms. bought myself the set and off I went. I have since bought all the kniffty knitters that are out there and also the 28" authentic knitting board which I absolutely love to work with. things come out so soft on it. I go from hats and scarfs to other things on my looms. whatever I feel like.. I try not to have to many unfinished projects laying around. My worst is finishing up something. you know weaving in all that loose yarn..my try before winter is to try my hands at mittens .. we shall see .......glad to see ya back......till next time Mausie

  3. Oh, Gidget is sooo cute! I have been thinking of you and wondering what you are up to. I hope you and the doggies are ok? That is a very pretty scarf you made and in answer to your question: I don't remember exactly when I discovered my creative side because I have always enjoyed drawing and painting and doing arts and crafts as long as I can remember. My family was very musical - everyone played at least one instrument, one of my uncles was an excellent painter - I saw sketches from his school work when he studied art...and my other uncle did engraving for A.W.Faber Castell (the pencil manufacturer)...plus they also taught us in school a broad range of arts and crafts so that we could develop our sense of coordination. It's easier to chose if you have a few things to chose from and I chose crocheting, knitting and painting as my favorites. (I know that was probably TMI)...please take care and stay well, my friend.
    With Love,
    Doris and Gizzy :-)

  4. Hi Erika,

I always loved to draw, paint and craft, played piano and fell in love with crochet when I was first introduced to it in Junior high school in Home Economics class. My Mom knit now and then but I always felt it took long to do and was hard to correct if you missed a stitch. Crochet is so laid back and freeing. It is so relaxing (unless you have a deadline)and fun to watch your creations grow and to play with so much color and texture.

I hope all continues to improve for you. Things sound like they are on the up and up!
